ABOUT

I'm Sebastien, DJ Camembert.
From Selecta Seb to DJ Camembert, the journey of an amazing DJ...
Sébastien’s story began in the Jura, a department in eastern France, where, for his sister Sandra’s tenth birthday, he made his first mixed tape at the tender age of 13. He soon started collecting vinyl records, and, when he was 18, he spun his first records thanks to the collective Wake Up!, accompanied, among others, by AaRON. He made the rounds of bars in Reims where he made his good vibrations resonate as Selecta Seb from the VIP Café, the Brind’Zing, and Pop Art, to La Palissade, the Appart Café, and the legendary Tigre.
He returned monthly to his roots in Franche-Comté to DJ at the KGB Club in Besançon. Every summer from 1998 to 2005, he flooded the Catalan coast, from Perpignan to Barcelona, with his neo soul, funk, and hip-hop mixes. During that time, he also hosted a show about urban music on Radio Primitive, where he interviewed the cream of French rap, as well as several dozen American rappers. From 2003 to 2010, he also participated in a number of events and festivals, including Octob’rock, Magnitudes, and Elektricity.
He then put DJing on hold—but continued to build up his vinyl collection by digging for records around the world during his travels—to focus on slam poetry. He explored different aspects of writing, innovating and spreading the art of slam poetry and creative writing in various countries, including China, Armenia, Cyprus, the United States, Spain, and Portugal.
He moved to Palma de Mallorca in 2017 where he started DJing again, changing his name from Selecta Seb to become “the Frenchy” DJ Camembert. He has DJ’d for private parties and weddings, as well as renowned clubs of the Balearic Islands—BH Mallorca, Mhares Sea Club, 45 Steps, Kaelum Club, Maraca, El Diamante, Maria 5 Beach Club, Café a Tres Bandas, among others.
DJ Camembert’s original mixes are eclectic with an exotic touch, and his motto is, “Let’s groove!” Let yourself be carried away by his music...
